There is a little known type of temporary van insurance known as 1 day van insurance. It allows you to insure yourself to drive a van for as little as 1 day or anywhere up to 28 days in total.
Being able to get insurance on a temporary basis means that it is easy and convenient to use a van as and when you need it and get the appropriate cover. This means that if you wanted to borrow a van because you are moving over the weekend then you can do so and get a 1 day van insurance policy or take out a policy over 2 days. As this is a flexible type of van insurance it means that you could get cover for a day and if you needed to extend your cover to another day or two you can easily do so.
It is easy to get a quote online and will only take 5 minutes or so to enter the required details. Once you have paid for your cover you can print off your documentation and quite literally drive the van straight away as your cover will be valid immediately. This is an ideal way to get temporary van insurance quickly and at any time of the day or night making it one of the most convenient types of insurance.
There are however some restrictions that may negate some drivers from getting cover. It is not currently possible to get temporary van insurance under 21 years of age and so if you are under 21 then you will have to opt for an alternative method of insurance such as a pay as you go policy.
The level of cover offered by temp van insurers is usually only comprehensive and you will generally find the more days that you take out cover for the cheaper the daily premiums will be. It is a convenient way to get insured to drive a van without having to amend existing policies and not to have to wait for documentation to arrive in the post.
